Aerometer

For the #curiosityobjects series I present to you… #whatisit? An #ancient #aerometer by #baume; that is, an #ancient #laboratory instrument for measuring and weighing liquids denser than water (it was used in #ancient preparations based on #syrups). It dates back to the very early years of the #20th century and the head contains, as per the manual, lead pellets. Some examples can be found in many #scientificmuseums and even not as well preserved as this one!
