Stirrer and clothes tong 1900

Patented in the Victorian era, this model with four wooden arms allowed washerwomen to stir the laundry in boiling water with soda. Bear in mind that it is 81 cm long!! Then, to avoid damaging the skin of the hands due to the chemicals and excessive heat, the clothes were extracted from the large tubs with the appropriate tongs - this example is 48 cm long.
