Antique Dutch Trivet with Tile

You get lost in the details contemplating this ancient tile used as a saucer, framed by a beautiful ancient Wood... there is fruit; obviously not the perfect one but the one marked by atmospheric agents, natural like the things of the past; there is the butterfly that attracted by the color flutters around the plant alighting for a quick rest... there is the wasp, that feeds... there is the fly, and I find it wonderful the fact that a fly has entered the artistic representation, the very one that is usually chased away, fought, denigrated. The image is beautiful and somehow manages to express the quintessence of country. Origin Holland, side cm 27.
