Antique goldsmith's scales

We picked up this antique scale here in Italy, the lady who sold it to us told us that her grandfather used it to weigh lead before going hunting. Like most of the objects we pick up, this one also comes with a story: we won't go into the merits of why people deprive themselves of objects that have an emotional value; there are many reasons and it's not up to us to judge. What's nice is that these stories are then adopted and saved by those who buy the objects and thus bring them back to life. It is truly beautiful and well preserved; you can disassemble the upper part and put everything back in the drawer so as to make it become a travel scale. Gorgeous displayed on a beautiful antique piece of furniture or on a beautiful marble top. Dimensions: 26 x 16 cm.
