Exclusive find … this large wooden case reinforced with iron and completely padded inside, 38 cm high and with a square base of 30 cm per side, dates back to the Second World War and was used to transport a theodolite. The theodolite is a very precious precision instrument used to measure azimuth and zenith angles. Being a very expensive instrument, it was transported or sent carefully protected, just as you can see from the inside of the case. This is a truly rare object - it still retains the remains of the old German label where you can read the beginning of "precious instrument" - the destination card was applied on the front because it was probably headed to collaborationist France. A piece of history, which however, given its very particular aesthetics, is in itself a wonderful and unusual furnishing accessory.
