BORLETTI industrial steel box

Old galvanized iron box from the historic BORLETTI company in Milan, size 31 x 21 x height 21, with handles, for storage, ideal for industrial style furniture revisited as a newspaper holder, towel holder, plant holder.

Founded by Romualdo Borletti in 1897 to produce watches, BORLETTI was oriented towards military production during the First World War. At the end of the conflict the company was converted to civilian production in the field of precision mechanics: among its products there were, in addition to watches, car instruments (in particular odometers), sewing machines and measuring instruments.

The Veglia brand was used to identify the product lines of watches, speedometers and odometers.

The company received important awards, including two Compasso d'Oro awards: the first with the Superautomatic Sewing Machine model 1102 by Marco Zanuso in 1956 and the second in 1964 with the Sferyclock alarm clock designed by Rodolfo Bonetto.
