Flanders whale oil lamp

This is a very rare and curious object: it is an ancient copper lamp from the very early 1900s from Flanders, which was powered by whale oil. This model is typical of the Dutch coasts and northern France and was called "snotneus" (trans. drop in the nose) for its shape. It is heavy as its base is weighted with vintage sand.
