No, it's not a huge bucket... well ladies & gentlemen, here is the #lessiveuse; the #ancient French manual #washing machine from the #20s!! An entire century of history enclosed in this large #ancient tool... a historic patent, which allowed women to work less hard. The clothes were boiled in this enormous #zinc container on the fire, then once warmed up, they were stirred and squeezed with the perforated piston... as if it were a real #ancient centrifuge ante litteram! A beautiful piece of #antiquefurniture, truly unusual to display; similar examples are exhibited in museums of peasant life and #tradesoftheonce. Dimensions: 44 x 35 cm.
