Beauty is in the details: this is what the ancient missal of the Roman rite that we are offering this morning conveys to us; dating back to 1883. And what makes it uniquely beautiful are the perfectly preserved iron locks, which intertwine a key and a cross. The key and the cross, in religious symbolism, have met since the times of ancient Egypt - that is, since the times of the Ankh, the key of life. Naturally in the Christian sense the powerful message is to be able to access salvation only through faith. Fragile binding inside for the first and last pages, some foxing, otherwise very good conditions.
