Padded jewelry box with swallows

A small Dutch jewel… the antique jewelry box with the inlaid lid and the little swallows; inside it has a small oval mirror and reveals a total of four compartments with the old light blue satin padding. The small key is no longer there but it closes perfectly thanks to an interlocking system. Opening this delightful box immediately evokes elegant and refined women sitting in front of their personal dressing table; busy choosing the right jewel and putting on their make-up.
