Tris antique handles Department Stores

These particular objects, certainly unknown to many in French, are called “poignées”: they are three old advertising handles for paper bags from the most famous department stores in Paris. When there were no reusable bags from Esselunga yet… people went to the Grands Magasins equipped with these handles to make it easier to carry their purchases home. Two of these handles are made of pressed paper and one is made of wood; respectively, they come from the Louvre department stores, the Samaritaine department stores on Rue Rivoli and the famous Printemps. They are from the late 50s and can be revisited as hooks to hang towels in the bathroom or hand towels in the kitchen. Surely an original idea that everyone will envy you.
